After a quick trip from St Louis to Memphis on day 4, my dad and I decided to again take the most direct route from Memphis to Hoover, AL. This was a good choice, as it was a pretty long drive even on the interstate, and the constant air flow was good for us with no AC in either car.

The destination for this stop was the Hoover Met. I have to say, it was a lovely venue, especially the heavily forested entrance. A nice parking lot, although black asphalt, was a relief after the horrors in Memphis. The Hoover Met is a baseball stadium (for unknown team), which was also open for concessions and the seats were open as well. the back board of the stadium provided some excellent shade from the burning hot Alabama sun. I had filled my Camelbak this time in preparation for the heat, and it helped a lot.

I got to meet Vic and Cammie Edelbrock! They have been autographing stuff at every stop, you get a hat and poster with both signatures, only we had won a copy of the Edelbrock book (a biography of Vic Edelbrock Sr.) and I got that signed as well! I have an Intake, Cam, timing chain, and water pump from them, and Cammie seemed very surprised to hear that all! They were very nice and cool to meet, even with Vic Sr. getting into his later later years.

Other than that, not much else happened, we left early because we’ve seen everything many times by now and it starts to glaze over you after awhile. But I did take a good amount of pictures after my failure to do so in Memphis.

Gratuitous photos:

Is that a new edge dashboard? They went to that much expense, and then put that in there?

That GSX and 347 Capri. So badass.

And I think I’ve read about that AWD Impala somewhere before. Didn’t they gut out an ‘03 Denali for the 6.0/4L60E combo and the AWD?

Would it be ok to use your photos of the mid-engine Mustang for an article? I would of course cite you as the source.
